What is LIFE WEEELOOP?

Video

LIFE WEEELOOP is an innovative European Union project aimed at transforming the management of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) through the recovery and reuse of kitchen hob components. By applying artificial intelligence (AI), digital traceability, and advanced recovery processes, the project optimizes the identification, classification, and reintegration of materials into the value chain, promoting a model based on the circular economy.

What do we do?

Focusing on ceramic glass, electronic boards, and induction elements, LIFE WEEELOOP develops solutions to enable the reuse of these parts in new products, repair networks, or advanced recycling processes. This approach reduces waste generation and fosters efficient resource use.

Project Objectives

Develop the Circular AI Platform, integrating AI and OCR technologies for the identification and traceability of components.

Optimize material recovery by distinguishing between secondary raw materials for industry and other recyclable materials.

Implement the Digital Product Passport (DPP), ensuring the traceability of recovered components and their reintegration into the market.

Ensure regulatory compliance, aligning with the WEEE Directive, ISO 14001, ISO 59001, and WEEELABEX standards.

Validate the integration of recovered components into new products or repair networks through industrial testing.

Promote circular economy practices in the home appliance sector, reducing the industry’s environmental footprint.
