The LIFE WEEELoop project had a prominent presence at the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RAEE) Congress 2024, held in Córdoba on October 3rd and 4th. The event featured the joint participation of Daniel de la Torre, representative of Circular Replay, and the technical team from Fundación ECOLEC. Together, they presented the project’s progress and results in sustainable electrical waste management.

During the RAEE Congress 2024, LIFE WEEELoop was recognized as an innovative model for the reuse of components from electric cooking plates (induction, radiant, and hybrid models), closing the lifecycle of these appliances through eco-design and digital traceability.

Daniel de la Torre (Circular Replay) and the Fundación ECOLEC team, representing the consortium, shared key advances including the establishment of preparation for reuse centers (CPRs), the use of artificial intelligence to select reusable components, and the development of a digital passport ensuring traceability of recovered materials.

Their presentation generated great interest among attendees, demonstrating how LIFE WEEELoop improves recovery rates and promotes a more circular and responsible production model. They also discussed opportunities to replicate the model in other sectors and European regions.

The participation of Daniel de la Torre and Fundación ECOLEC at the RAEE Congress 2024 reaffirms the project’s commitment to circular economy and technological innovation, strengthening its leadership in the sustainable transformation of the appliance sector.

LIFE WEEELoop continues to consolidate its role as a benchmark in circular solutions, adding value and sustainability through reuse and digital traceability.
