LIFE WEEELoop, present at the Basque Circular Summit 2025
Read moreThe European project LIFE WEEELoop, coordinated by Copreci S.Coop, has had an outstanding participation in the Basque Circular Summit 2025, the main meeting on circular economy in the Basque Country. During the event, the most relevant advances of the project in terms of improving the preparation for reuse of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), a strategic area for the transition to circular models, were shared.
Within the framework of the Summit, a specific session on the project was held with the participation of representatives from several of the partner entities. Jorge de Antonio, representing Circular Replay, and Mikel Telleria, from Copreci, gave a comprehensive overview of the consortium’s collaborative approach. Also participating in the panel were Luis Moreno, CEO of ECOLEC, who highlighted the need to improve traceability and the flow of reusable materials, and Ane Salaberria, from EMAUS Fundación Social, who highlighted the role of the third sector in the management and preparation for reuse of WEEE.
Exxita contributed its experience in environmental education and public awareness, which is essential for promoting more sustainable consumption habits. Circular Replay detailed the lines of work deployed in the different regional demonstrators, aimed at maximizing the reuse of components and equipment, while Copreci highlighted the role of the industry in the design of products intended for repair and reconditioning.
The consortium’s participation in the Summit has reinforced its position as a driving force within the Basque and European circular ecosystem. “Events like this allow us to contrast approaches, add synergies and accelerate the territorial impact of the project,” said Jorge de Antonio after the session.
